KDKA Radio and television personality Marty Griffin launched a digital media brand and program, Sparkt, which intends to spread joy throughout the holiday season, according to a news release.
The program will distribute gift cards at holiday-themed events and pop-up stations in the Pittsburgh region through the end of December. Each participant will receive two Giant Eagle gift cards and is encouraged to give one to someone else, spreading acts of kindness throughout the city, the release said.
Through the use of the Sparkt digital media platform and website, gift card recipients are asked to post photos or videos of the exchanges using #SparktKindness. Those interested can follow Sparkt on Facebook, Instagram or Twitter for updates on where distributions will be hosted.
This holiday season campaign is planned as the first of several for Sparkt, which aims to promote community engagement throughout the whole year. The Sparkt website also features areas for Pittsburgh residents to ask for help and offer services.
Partners for the holiday campaign include Giant Eagle, The Metropolitan Window Company and Bowser Automotive, according to the release.
